CARLSBAD OCEANSIDE ART LEAGUE

The Carlsbad Oceanside Art Gallery (COAL) is located at 300 Carlsbad Village Drive, Suite 101, Carlsbad, CA. Gallery hours change so please call first (760) 434-8497.

Through a grant from the city of Carlsbad this wonderful association is able to present well-known artists in various media to perform demonstrations of their art styles and techniques. This monthly event is open to the public and is free.

In February 2008 the Carlsbad Oceanside Art League (COAL) judges awarded one of my oil paintings “Honorable Mention.” I am honored by this because I never thought it would happen to me. I’ve only been exhibiting my oil paintings at the Gallery since last summer and they were not for sale. It was like leaving my babies exposed for the world to see and I just could not part with any of them. Finally, I gave myself permission to put my paintings up for sale and new doors and vistas have opened to me! It took many baby steps to get where I am today - willing to share with others and to let go when the occasion called for it to do so.
